Little Alexa Nicole was born on March 7th, she weighed just 5 pds 15 oz and was such a little peanut. She was perfect even though she was about 3 weeks early, I was worried her lungs wouldn't be all the way developed, but thankfully they were. She did have a little bit of a hard time learning how to eat, but she has made up for that in the last couple weeks.

These are just a few shots of her in the hospital
He CANNOT leave her alone and at first it was really cute, now it is getting a little annoying:) He sure does love her though and who can blame him, she really is the cutest, sweetest little baby. I am the luckiest woman in the world!
I can hardly believe it, where has the time gone? She asked for a lot of things for her birthday and one of those was a camera. She must have downloaded these pictures on my computer without me knowing. I was looking through my pictures to find something to blog about and saw all these. It totally cracked me up:) So for your viewing pleasure I posted my favorites, the barbies are the best part if you ask me!

I was scared when I found out Brady was a boy and didn't know what to do with a boy. Now I have 3 little boys and I sure do know how to do boys now. They are so much fun and I love how they are so rough and dirty and loud and then all of a sudden they are so tender and sweet with each other or with me and their sisters. Brady has the sweetest little heart and he can be so tender and yet is also the one with the worst temper. Collin is so stubborn and doesn't stop for one second, but he sure loves to have his dad love on him. He also wants to be just like Brady and does and says everything he does( which drived Brady absolutely crazy everyday). Blake isn't quite into the big boy stage yet, but I can see glimpses or it coming, luckily he still lets me snuggle and kiss on him all day so I am still a happy lady. I think the thing I love the most about raising these boys is to see how much they love each other. There is nothing that brings more joy to a mother than to see her children playing with each other nicely or hugging each other and sticking up for the other one when someone is mean to them. Sometimes Brady and Collin will even start to cry when Brent or I get mad at the other one, it's so cute. I love them so much!

The Thompson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15513781511906928274noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8993803901663281297.post-81352212699063506572011-04-12T09:05:00.000-07:002011-04-12T10:40:39.305-07:00Missing my girls

My parents invited Kenna and Mally to go to Bear Lake for a few days over spring break and they were so excited to go. The one who isn't is their overprotective mother who always trys to bribe them 30 minutes before they are leaving to stay home with me... doesn't work. I know they will have fun and hopefully get back to me safely. I love these two so much and miss them a lot when they are gone. I forget what a help they are to me when they are gone.
Another thing that I have been thinking a lot about lately and am leaning towards is homeschooling them next year. I have thought about it a lot for the past year and am getting more use to the idea of it. Our days just seem to run smoother when we are all together and I feel like I want to spend the time with my kids teaching them instead of letting someone else have them for 6 hours a day. I also want to be able to protect them a little more from the influences of the world until they are a little older and are not so easily influenced. I don't know for sure what we will do, but for now the girls are really excited about the thought of it.The Thompson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15513781511906928274noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8993803901663281297.post-56197203926165776082011-03-09T08:37:00.000-08:002011-03-09T08:37:23.017-08:00Come on Spring
Lately the weather has been teasing me a little with it's days of nice weather and the nice sun shining. I have lived in Utah a little too long to even think for a minute that we are done with the snow though. I am thinking that I might just go ahead and pack up the snow clothes though, I am ready for some spring cleaning action I think! I find myself looking at all the trees daily in hopes for any little budding blossoms. I am so ready for spring and summer, come on already!

We broke up for a whole year after that and didn't even see each other. Than fate stepped in. I signed up for a math class at UVU my freshman year and his bestfriend Scott happened to be in the same 7 AM class. I don't know what made me sign up for a class that early, mornings are not my thing. Anyway we ended up hanging out and Brent and I were back together instantly. We had a few dumb fights over the next year, but eventually we knew that we couldn't live without each other:) I love this man more than I ever thought possible. He is my very best friend. My whole universe revolves around him (and our kids). His is so kind, slow to anger, giving, hard working, loyal, so fun to be with, and being totally HOT is good too! He is always putting me and my needs before his and never complains. He is the best dad to our kids and is always trying harder to make their lives better. I think the best part is that no matter how much time we spend together I have never once felt like I was sick of being with him. I could spend every second of my life just hanging out with him. I am so excited that I get to be his wife not only on earth but for eternity too. I love you Brent!

It's so sad to see them grow so fast and not be a little baby anymore. He is so fun though and it's so nice that he is finally able to communicate. It was a hard to have him be so naughty for awhile there. We went to the Lehi Trafalga with my family and Brents mom, lets just say we probably won't ever be going back to that Trafalga, it was such an awful layout and way too crowded. The kids had fun though and that's what really matters I guess. We then came back home and had pizza and cake and ice cream. He got a lot of fun stuff from everyone and he was a happy little boy! We are very lucky to have so many wonderful people in our lives that love our kids. We are also very lucky to have Collin in our family.

We have mostly been working on learning his letters and sounds that go with them. He has done awesome and has them all down perfectly. Now we are learning to write them. He loves writing them out in flour in a pan, it seems to not only be easier to start out, but he stays engaged in what we are doing a lot longer. Collin is also enjoying doing whatever his big brother does, he has only learned about 2 letters though :)

Its crazy! I actually really enjoy doing laundry, but hate that the washroom in all the way in the back of our basement. Last year I started using the Duggars homemade soap recipe and it has saved us a ton of money. The one thing I changed was to add a cup of Oxyclean to the batch.

The other thing that I really dislike is that we have carpet so close to the washer. See those nice orange spots... That is what happens when you are trying to pour bleach and the baby grabs the dispenser and spills it all over the carpet. Not my best day, but it could have been a lot worse. I luckily dumped a bucket of water on it right away and it only bleached the spots I missed.

So thats what I am up to today. Lots and lots of laundry. I want to ask if anyone has any secrets that they use to get their white really white. I try bleach but it doesn't seem to make a huge difference so I am looking for some good tips!

You're are so pretty Mal and look so sweet and innocent and I try to reason with you and make you happy, I really do. I just don't understand how it is you are dead set on making Everything, Everyday, into MAJOR DRAMA...
I am pretty sure I was exactly the same as her as a child and so as the saying goes " I deserve it". She is such a little woman already and wants to make her own choices and not be told what to do. This year has been hard on her I think going to all day school. She won't and never would admit that she is super worn out by the time she comes home, but I know she could still use a nap. She has a complete meltdown with in minutes of coming home almost everyday. Over anything. In the midst of all this she is still such a good helper and she is the biggest tease and makes us laugh all the time. She has a good heart and is always trying to cheer up anyone around her that is sad. I know as she grows she will become a strong girl who is able to stand up for what she knows is right and that makes me happy. I will just have to look at this strong willed personality in a positive light. She is one of a kind and we love her beyond words. The Thompson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15513781511906928274noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8993803901663281297.post-20904017497346917282011-01-22T21:15:00.000-08:002011-01-22T21:15:35.666-08:00Rich & Famous

I remeber being a teenager and thinking that all I wanted in life was to go to NYC and become a fashion designer or something cool like that. That was my dream to be famous and have lots of money. I am not either of those things in the worlds eyes, but in my house I am famous and I am the richest woman I know. All my kids think I am a star at getting their laundry done, I am the best at changing diapers and wiping running noses, and I am a famous for being the cook and cleaning lady of the house. I might not get paid in real money for all these and many of the other jobs that come with being a mom, but I am certainly richer than I ever would be living any other life. I have 5 treasures that I get to be a mom to and that bring me so much joy. I am also pretty lucky to have my best friend for a husband. I am so lucky that it is possible for me to stay home everyday and see them each grow into amazing little people. I wouldn't miss it for the world!

It feels like I do the same thing day after day, week after week, and I am getting a little bored... I wake up, get the kids breakfast, get the girls to school, come home and either get ready or go wait and go to the gym first, then the rest of the afternoon is cleaning and laundry, girls come home and we do homework, make dinner, clean again, do bedtime. Don't get me wrong, I love my life and my kids, but I am sick of cleaning the same things EVERYDAY! I can't believe how the carpet needs to be vacuumed everyday and the bathrooms to be cleaned. Little kids are such little piggies. The other thing that just gets so tedious is getting yourself ready everyday, who is so sick of blow drying their hair and putting on makeup after 30 years??? Well, I guess like 16 years cause I didn't do much to myself for the first 14 years of my life:) The daily grind must go on though, or else the house would be gross and the kids would starve and Brent would not be attracted to a wife that looked and smelled bad. Anyone else ever feel like this sometimes?
The Thompson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15513781511906928274noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8993803901663281297.post-53357000428381164382010-11-05T10:11:00.000-07:002010-11-05T10:11:16.903-07:00Treats & Me

What is the deal with me and treats? I have been seriously trying to lose these last 8 to 10 pds for like 6 months and it is proving to be the most impossible thing ever. I am very dedicated to working out almost everyday and drink tons of water, but there is one problem...FOOD. I hate it, I have no will power at all. I think in the morning that I will be so good and I am until like 7 at night, then I am awful. I am so addicted to treats, and Halloween didn't help at all cause I am one of those moms who steals candy from the babies Halloween bucket. I should throw it out, but I don't, lol. It doesn't help that half the time I am just eating out of being bored. So, I am making a new goal and letting it out on this blog. I am going to go 3 weeks without eating sugar, it might be the hardest 3 weeks of my life:) There are so many people I know that can do this and make it look so easy, I think it is the hardest thing ever. I swear if I end up gaining weight after 3 weeks I am going to have a sugar party and everyone is invited! The Thompson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15513781511906928274noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8993803901663281297.post-17186432042573900122010-11-01T11:08:00.000-07:002010-11-01T11:13:47.154-07:00Halloween

I think I am becoming a grinch about not only christmas, but all holidays. Its just so much work and by the time its over I am exhausted. I also think it is a big scam to get us to spend money! After all the costumes and candy and decorations you are broke, but I guess its what you do to make your kids happy. This year trick or treating was so cold and rainy that I was even less in the mood to do it than usual. The kids only went for about a half hour around my mom's neighborhood, but still made out pretty good. The more kids the more candy, and guess who needs major will power to stay away from the twix and kitkat, so tempting. By the end of the holidays we will all be 10 pds heavier and have a big bill at the dentist! Now that I have been negitive about this holiday I am going to try to have a good outlook on Christmas! The Thompson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15513781511906928274noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8993803901663281297.post-55882926015015298992010-10-29T21:26:00.001-07:002010-10-29T21:41:39.584-07:00Just an example! My last blog was about a little boy who is trying his mothers patience on a daily bases. Just incase you needed proof of the mischief my two year old gets into everyday, here is proof! This happens in less than 3 minutes of me not being in the same room. Poor Blake, he had the saddest red and irritated eyes for the rest of the night. Hard to be the little brother. What do you do? I just have started to laugh instead of get mad, cause getting mad doesn't stop this kid. As my mother always says,"it's good he's cute",that might not save him for too much longer though.

Then I get him out of his crib, which has a tent over it so he can't escape(best invention ever) and the monster is loose. I have never had a child who can make my blood boil faster. He is none stop trouble... I am losing my mind. I have to be in the same room at all times or he will find something to destroy, somebody to bite or hurt, a toilet to play in, items in the fridge to spill all over the floor. I mean come on Collin it has been going on for over a year, get over the terrible stage and just be good for a couple months. Time outs don't work, neither does soap in the mouth, they say not to use the crib tent for punishment, but I will admit I have become desperate at times!

But, when the day finally comes to an end and I am reading him a story I am amazed he is still alive. I am also amazed that through all the endless torment he puts me through I am absolutely in love with this kid. He can still melt my heart in an instant and I couldn't imagine living one second without him. I just have to keep reminding myself that this will pass and I might even miss it...HaHaHa. It really wasn't as hard as I thought to redo these, but it is time consuming. I love the way the dresser turned out, but I am still working on the other piece. Its hard to be motivated now that one is done and I know what went into it.

Before After

The Thompson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15513781511906928274noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8993803901663281297.post-44513286412039134602010-09-08T12:19:00.000-07:002010-09-08T12:29:29.619-07:00Canning

Its weird how at the beginning of summer I am so excited about fall and canning, then after the first batch of peaches I remember it's not so fun. Brady and Collin are beyond out of control in sacrament and Blake is quickly becoming just as bad, the girls fight constantly and every thirty seconds someone is asking for snacks. There is no way to feel the spirit, unless its the wrong spirit...urg. But, once we get everyone off to class and I get to have a few hours without them I always have the best experiences and gain so much out of being there. I never regret going once I get home and it makes the rest of the day seem to just flow better. Its funny how by the next week I forget how good it 'Will' be in the end if we just endure through the first part. The other thing that always seems to come to my mind on sunday is how awesome my ward family is, I feel so lucky to live in a ward that actually feels like a great big family, there isn't anyone we don't like. What a blessing to belong to the church and be able to have such blessings.

Cookie time is their favorite part of Sundays!

The Thompson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15513781511906928274noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8993803901663281297.post-62542464970358897772010-08-20T19:55:00.000-07:002010-08-20T20:16:39.727-07:00What to do???I am really trying to decide if I am cut out for this blogging world. I am horrible at the whole thing, loading pictures, changing the layouts, I just need a week long tutorial on the way everything works. I love to look at everyone elses blogs and they do such a good job and I get mad at myself for not just doing it at least once a week or so. So, now the question is should I or should I just call it quits... I may give it one last try and see how I do I guess.

Since it has been 5 months since I last blogged I guess I will back track a bit. We have had a pretty low key summer for the most part. We went to Lagoon with Brent's mom a few week ago and had a really great time. I went to Bear Lake with the kids, that was an adventure all in itself. I grew a greater understanding of why there needs to be 2 parents to raise a family. You CAN do it alone, I just would never want to, its a lot of work. This last week has been canning week and I have a few more times I am sure. So far we have raspberry jam, peach jam, canned peaches, and tons of peaches still on the tree plus blackberries that are ready. I love summer so much, the walks at night, the green all around, letting the kids go without shoes all day, sitting on my porch and reading, man I will mis you warmth.

Well as for my kids, my sweet baby is now 10 months and crawling all over the place, he has 8 teeth and it so much fun. Mallory turned six on the tenth and she is going to be in First Grade... where the time goes I will never know. Kenna will be in Fourth so thats ever worse. Collin is still a hand full, but I can see a little change for the better starting. And Brady is just Brady, he is always there to make us laugh and I love to just sit and snuggle with that kid. Life is great and I love it and I am going to try harder to be a better blogger so until (hopefully) next week I am done! And hopefully pictures will be included next time:)The Thompson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15513781511906928274noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8993803901663281297.post-31841402763753139362010-03-25T19:19:00.000-07:002010-03-25T19:48:13.614-07:00Stop the Time....Please

Where does it go? I mean really does it just automatically start to speed up a little faster each time a baby is born? I just want time to slow down and let me have a little more of the newborn smells, first smiles, tiny tiny toes, more of the 2 hours of staring at my sleeping baby wondering why I could look at his face forever and never memorize it. I don't want my oldest baby to be 8 and I definately don't want my littlest to already be almost 6 months. I guess I am just not very good with change. Now don't get me wrong I love every stage that my kids get to but, I dread the day when they are all grown and on their own and I don't have a diaper to change(yes, I will miss it), someone to nag me for a drink, hearing "Moooom" 579 times a day, bending over to pick up toys, food, or a kid every 2 minutes, and waking up to the most beautiful 5 faces I have ever seen. Motherhood is the Greatest thing in the WORLD!!!!

The Thompson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15513781511906928274noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8993803901663281297.post-71861786715359849792010-03-25T19:06:00.000-07:002010-03-25T19:19:01.594-07:00Collin Turns 2

Little Collin turned 2 in February! He has given us quite the run for our money in those two short years... he is such a hand full sometimes. He is so funny and is starting to be able to communicate a lot better, we were worried that he would never talk, but he has finally got the idea now. I sometimes feel a little sorry for him having to be in the middle of two brothers who will probably be bigger than him, Blake is only 5 months and can wear the same size diaper, lol I really do feed him:) I think little boys are so much fun and couldn't be happier to have 3 little guys in our family. Collin has been liking Barney a lot for the past couple months so that was the theme of his party. We went to dinner and then had both sides of our family come over for cake and ice cream, overall it was a great birthday for a Awesome little boy!

The Thompson Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15513781511906928274noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8993803901663281297.post-86553344874065773012010-01-22T23:13:00.000-08:002010-01-22T23:44:52.242-08:00Family Pictures I can't believe how amazing all of our pictures turned out...
